Gaming groups sign-up lobbyists

Several gaming businesses have already hire lobbyists to start promoting their interests for the upcoming legislative session.

Files with the secretary of state office show that Daniel Callaghan of Devine, Millimet and Branch is registered to represent Rockingham Venture, owners of the Salem Rockingham race track. While George Roberts of Policy Management Associates, Inc. is registered to represent Yankee Greyhound Racing, the company that owns the dog race track in Seabrook.

D’Allesandro says ‘stars aligned’ for expanded gaming

State Sen. Lou D'Allesandro (D-Manchester) said that he thinks this legislative session is the best opportunity to pass bills that would expand gambling in New Hampshire.

"If there is any chance that we can get expanded gaming in the state it's this year," D'Allesandro told PolitickerNH.com. "The stars have aligned to allow the legislature to look at ways to bring in new revenues to the state."
