Shea-Porter Hails Passage of Defense Authorization Bill,

 Critical Funding Included for Portsmouth Naval Shipyard

Washington, DC—Today, Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter successfully secured funding for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. The funding, which is included in the Defense Authorization bill,  contains $20.6 million for the Waterfront Support Facility and $9.98 million for the Consolidated Global Submarine Component.

Critical Shipyard Funding Included in Defense Authorization Bill

Washington, DC—After months of hard work, Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter has successfully secured critical funding for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in the Defense Authorization bill.  The bill contains $20.6 million for the Waterfront Support Facility and $9.98 million for the Consolidated Global Submarine Component. The House is scheduled Wednesday to vote on the legislation.

SUNUNU VOTES AGAINST TROOPS

Blocks Defense Authorization Bill in the name of partisan politics

 

Republican Senator John Sununu last night voted against the Defense Authorization bill which included a pay raise for servicemembers and improvements in healthcare for troops and their families. The bill Sununu opposed authorizes weapons systems, including $3 billion to defeat IEDs in Iraq and Afghanistan.
