How will Sarah Palin play in New Hampshire? Specifically, how will she play with Hillary’s voters?
Two-part answer:
(1) Among Democratic women who live in Bow or Bedford and send $100 to NARAL every year? Not so well.
(2) But remember, the core of Hillary’s core vote in New Hampshire was not women from Bow. The core of her core, from beginning to end, always was women who lived in working-class wards in places like Manchester and Nashua, Rochester and Somersworth, Claremont and Berlin.
Assuming (and it’s not a small assumption) that Palin gets off on the right foot, those voters are the ones to watch.

WOW
I think this is big news... Obama's momentum stopped on a dime with a very smart choice.
I wish Sarah Palin all the best and I am excited for your first trip to NH. I think you will find a warm welcome. McCain-Palin 08 will win the Granite State!!!!!
How insulting
Extremely insulting, Mr. Scala, thinking that supporters of Hillary Clinton only supported her because she is a woman. They supported her because she was smart, experienced, pro-choice, pro-working families - everything Palin is not.
Turning The Presidency Into An "American Idol" Talent Search
WOW -- while I am pleased to see another glass ceiling broken, with the Republicans finally recognizing the equal value of women (Elizabeth Dole didn't seem to receive the credit she deserved by her fellow Republicans a bit back), I wonder whether the Presidency should be turned into some sort of "American Idol" talent search.
Imagine, John McCain has been around for, what -- decades? And he's met the person who he chooses for the Vice Presidency ONCE in his life, then gives her a call after seeing a video about her given to him by his staff? American Idol contestants have to go through more than that to get on the show.
And, this is reality. Serious stuff. This is the person who would be given the codes in the "football" (that's the nuclear missle codes) if something happens to the President.
I think American voters are smart, and won't be connived, nor swiftboated. You can fool all the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all the people all of the time (I think a famous Republican said something like that).
Issues count. Hillary Clinton supporters won't vote for John McCain. This is about the future of our country. Lives are at stake in Iraq. Lives are lost by the lack of health care. Lives are affected by a sick environment, or bad schools in need of fixing.
Equality is about more than just naming someone for the Vice Presidency -- it's about choice, equal pay, equal opportunity in corporations, equality in our relationships. John McCain - Sarah Palin aren't up to snuff on those causes. Barack Obama-Joe Biden are.
Why not pick a woman who is actually qualified?
It's actually kind of an insult to think that Gov. Palin is the choice to pander to..er I mean attract Hillary Clinton's supporters.
Maybe if she was qualified -- she has less than a quarter of Obama's experience at the state level, in a state that is barely half as populous as NH. She has no experience with Washington or international politics.
And this is the person we are expected to put one 73-year-old heart beat away from the most powerful position on the planet? They expect women to jump on board just because she shares their gender? Like I said, that's just plain insulting.
Social extremist
Palin will kill McCain's shot at winning New Hampshire. With this pick the Republican Party has given up on the "Rockefeller Republicans" of New England.
The GOP is a joke
It is impossible to take the GOP seriously anymore. What an insult to America to have that unqualified person a heartbeat away fron the presidency.
McCain picks a stunningly
McCain picks a stunningly unqualified individual, with ties to the oil industry, who is way out of the mainstream on social issues, whose experience is limited to a year and a half as governor of the second smallest state and a few terms as mayor of a tiny Anchorage suburb.
This is going to draw people in?
Come on, Dante, you know better than that!
More smear from the scared.
Zogby
McCain/Palin 47%
Obama/Biden 45%
Rasmussen poll finds 53% now have a favorable opinion of Palin, and by way of comparison, on the day he was selected as Barack Obama’s running mate, Delaware Senator Joseph Biden was viewed favorably by 43% of voters.
Now we know why the Dems are smearing her up and down the MSM. They are afraid, especially when Obamas VP pick, a 35 yr inside the beltway politician with chronic foot in mouth disease. Even I agree that Hillary was more deserving of the VP spot.
Lets check out some moments of the 35 yr career Washington Insider.

McCain raked in $7+ mil over the last 24 hrs. The party is energized, and they didn't need to put Bon Jovi, or the Boss on stage like Obama.

Obama is really more of the same and will represent a Bush third term.

Extremist
Sarah Palin's extremist views on choice put her at odds with most people in the United States. Not only is she against a woman's right to privacy and bodily autonomy, she is against abortion in the case of rape or incest. That's way, way out in the farthest fringes of the right wing. I don't know anyone who would force their daughter/sister/wife/mother to bear the child of a rapist.
She belongs to a group that is against contraception, as well. Again, these are extremist views that will be unacceptable to most women.
To suggest somehow that women will vote for ANY woman, just because she's a woman is sexist and insulting.
Hillary voters all
Hillary voters all pro-choice? I seriously doubt that. Most polls show that between 15 to 20 percent of all Democrats are pro-life. Also since when do liberals and progressives, "pro-working families," shop at Wal-Mart? Like, never. So, it would seem as thought what Dante is saying could possibly be right.
