Shea-Porter Continues to Support Troops, Attends National Guard Deployment Ceremony
New Hampshire – Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter continued to demonstrate her commitment to our men and women in uniform by attending the New Hampshire National Guard Deployment Ceremony earlier this week.
“I have been to many of these farewells and it is always difficult to see these men and women deploy, knowing how hard it is on the families, but I am grateful for their generous service to our country,” said Congresswoman Shea-Porter. “Their mission to Afghanistan is critical to fighting terrorism and I will keep our troops and their loved ones in my prayers.”
A composite unit of 16 soldiers will serve a year in Afghanistan as mentors to the Afghan National Army and police force. This will be the sixth team of New Hampshire Army Guard soldiers to serve as mentors in Afghanistan since 2003.
