“My offices have been in touch with state and federal officials throughout the day for updates on this serious situation, and we are award that the Federal Emergency Management Agency is sending a Region 1 senior advisor to New Hampshire this afternoon to monitor the response effort,” said Sununu.
“The first priority at this time, of course, is the safety of residents of Merrimack, Strafford, Belknap, Carroll, and Rockingham Counties who felt the full force of the powerful storms that hit southern and central New Hampshire,” he continued. “As we move forward, however, I will assist state and local officials in every way possible to repair the damage and restore homes, roads, and communities.”
